Mr. Huston has had in-depth experience with a wide variety of business and tort litigation. Early in his career, he was associated with the Los Angeles firm of Kirtland & Packard, where he defended Western Airlines nationwide in its personal injury litigation.
Mr. Huston's career turned toward business litigation in 1987,
when he moved to San Diego to join the San Diego office of
Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. At ML&B's San Diego Office,
Mr. Huston litigated a wide variety of cases involving, real
estate, construction, banking, license agreements, products
liability, and general negligence, as well as actions
involving RICO and environmental claims.
In 1993, Mr. Huston began his own practice, where he continued to litigate a variety of business and tort cases, including cases involving unfair competition and trade secrets, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, wrongful termination, construction defects, broker dealers cases, nuisances, landlord-tenant, and individuals with disabilities.
Most recently, Mr. Huston has begun to further develop his expertise in the areas of trade secrets, unfair competition and claims under Business and Professions Code section 17200. In that regard, he is currently writing a book as to what constitutes a trade secret. The book will assimilate and synthesize the holdings of every appellate decision addressing the issue in the 42 states that have adopted the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. Mr Huston has served as the Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the San Diego County Bar Association, and he is a Member of the Business Litigation, and Intellectual Property and Technology Law Sections of Orange County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Standing Committee on Trade Secrets of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California. |
