Mr. Huston has substantial experience with business and trade secrets litigation. Early in his career, he was associated with the Los Angeles firm of Kirtland & Packard, where he defended Western Airlines nationwide in its personal injury litigation.

Mr. Huston's career turned toward business litigation in 1987, when he moved to San Diego to join the San Diego office of Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. At ML&B's San Diego Office, Mr. Huston litigated a wide variety of cases involving, real estate, construction, banking, license agreements, products liability, and general negligence, as well as actions involving RICO and environmental claims.

In 1993, Mr. Huston began his own practice, where he continued to litigate a variety of business cases, including cases involving trade secrets, unfair competition, partnership disputes, shareholder disputes, wrongful termination, construction defects, broker dealers cases, nuisances, landlord-tenant, and individuals with disabilities.

In the last few years, Mr. Huston has been further developing his expertise in the areas of trade secrets and unfair competition. In that regard, he is writing a book to be published in fall 2009, as to (1) what constitutes a trade secret, (2) what constitutes trade secret misappropriation, and (3) what remedies exist for trade secret misappropriation. The book will analyze and synthesize all of the published cases of the federal courts and the appellate courts of the 47 states that have adopted the Uniform Trade Secrets Act. Mr. Huston has served as the Co-Chair of the Intellectual Property Section of the San Diego County Bar Association. He is also a member of the Business Litigation, and Intellectual Property and Technology Law Sections of The Orange County Bar Association, and the Standing Committee on Trade Secrets of the Intellectual Property Section of the State Bar of California.
